Dr. Ammara Mushtaq,
Medical Director &
Principal Investigator

Dr. Mushtaq, a board-certified physician in internal medicine and infectious diseases, is the lead Principal Investigator and Medical Director at Swift Clinical.

Previously, Dr. Mushtaq was a physician at the the University of Florida, Gainesville, where she managed highly complex patients, served as PI on several studies, and contributed as a medical advisor to the pharmaceutical sector.

Dr. Manoj Dalmia,
Principal Investigator

Dr. Dalmia, a board-certified and Harvard-trained anesthesiologist with subspecialty certification in pediatric anesthesia and obesity medicine, is a Principal Investigator at Brooklyn Clinical Research. A passionate clinician and educator, he has 15+ years of healthcare experience at top medical centers, most recently NYU Langone. Dr. Dalmia supports industry-sponsored clinical trials across a range of therapeutic areas including pain, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, and metabolic disorders.

Being aware of what you don’t know is as important – if not more important – than what you do know, especially as a physician.

What’s The Most Inspiring Part of Your Job?
I’ve always loved connecting with patients and helping them to get better, but now the patients are also helping other patients get better. And that’s awesome.

Katherine Azer,

Site Manager & 

Senior Clinical Research
Coordinator

Katherine Azer is the site manager and senior clinical research coordinator at Brooklyn Clinical Research.

With a background as a primary clinical research coordinator and regulatory specialist, she brings a wealth of experience spanning numerous years in vaccines, internal medicine, and psychiatry-driven clinical trials. Katherine has a bachelor’s in pharmaceutical science and a master’s in clinical research from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.

Krina Patel,

Senior Clinical Research
Coordinator

Krina is a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at Brooklyn Clinical Research.

Krina has 4 years of experience in investigational vaccine and investigational drug trials with a focus on internal medicine related trials. Krina has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Integrative and Cellular Physiology. In her free time, she likes to travel and explore new cities! 

Maria Ali,

Clinical Research
Coordinator

Maria is a Clinical Research Coordinator at Brooklyn Clinical Research.
She started her journey in Clinical Research as an RA for 2 years prior to joining BCR, with clinical research experience in endocrine, respiratory, and vaccinations. Maria has a Bachelor’s in Biology with a Health Concentration from CUNY College of Staten Island and a CCMA from New Age Training.

Nerissa Gopaul,

Patient Recruitment
Coordinator

Nerissa Gopaul is a dedicated Patient Recruitment Coordinator at Brooklyn Clinical Research. She has an extensive background in Health Operations and patient service coordination. She began her career in her home country of Guyana, where she served as an Office Supervisor and Project Coordinator at one of Guayana’s Regional Hospitals.

She currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration at Monroe University.

Cassie Cohen,

Coordinator

Cassie is a Patient Recruitment Coordinator at Brooklyn Clinical Research. She recently graduated with a Master of Public Health from Columbia University. She started her career as a Clinical Research Coordinator for Emory University’s Behavioral Immunology Program.

Karran Kundra,

Patient Recruitment
Coordinator

Karran is a Patient Recruitment Coordinator at Brooklyn Clinical Research. He is responsible for sourcing and pre-screening patients into our research studies, and he serves as a first point of contact between the subject and our research site.

Karran received his BA in Psychology from The University at Buffalo. He has over five years of administrative and patient-relationship experience.

David Almeida,

CEO & Founder

David is the CEO and Founder of Brooklyn Clinical Research and Swift Clinical Research Group.

David holds an MBA, with Dean’s Honors and Distinction, from Columbia Business School, and a BA in Health: Science, Society, and Policy from Brandeis University. In his free time, he plays
soccer and entertains his long-haired dachshund, Leo.
